Miser” was conceived as a traditional Bordeaux blend, a more serious and thoughtful cousin to our popular and muscular California Cabernet Sauvignon. Here we sought a satisfying depth of flavor by marrying the firm tannins and forward fruit of Gary Mangels’ superb Suisun Valley Cab Sauv with the chocolate undertones of Lange Vineyard and the spicy, minerally Haynes Valley component, then framing the lush richness of the resulting Cabernet Sauvignon blend with the energetic drive and refinement of Cabernet Franc from the Lodi appellation. This Cabernet Franc also imparts intriguing notes of tobacco and tarragon to the nose and a lingering finish reminiscent of a fine Bordeaux. We are enrolled in the Meritage Society as its lowest priced member and proud of it. This is our answer to Opus One, and darn it, our bottle is worth more than their thimble-full! Miser is the standard bearer for the "CheapSkate" philosophy. We firmly believe that American wine lovers deserve high quality without overpricing. We acknowledge our French guru Patrick Ducournau for his suite of élevage techniques which we have incorporated into a winemaking philosophy we call GrapeCraft. Miser Meritage can be purchased at Mallory Lane Wines and Spirits, Brinkmann's Wines and Spirits, Grand Cru Wines and Spirits, Vinea City of Wine, Maryland Farms Wines and Spirits, Radnor Wines and Spirits, Fido, Eastland Cafe, Mad Platter, LaVergne Beverage Depot, The Wine Shop of Green Hills, The Wine Chap, Flyte World Dining, J.
