The Nebbiolo grape, grown in the Langhe (Latin for tongue) zone of the Piemonte, is noted for it’s high tannin, acidity, and dry extract. In the nutshell, it needs careful winemaking to tame it. Guess what? Maria Grazia, winemaker and daughter of Carlo and Carla Giacosa, is a Nebbiolo tamer. Aged 6 months in oak cask, this wine has red and black fruit nuances along with typical Nebbiolo elegance.
Great accompaniment with strong cheeses, red meat and pasta sauces.
